Thanks Hendry County Library Folks

I had a great morning presenting “Real Men Read with Kids: Inspiring Boys to Read for Life” to librarians and volunteers with the Hendry County Libraries. We talked about boys and reading, what key factors it takes to engage boys (and men) in reading, and how to change up the readers’ advisory interview to meet the needs of boys. We shared ideas as well as concerns about getting boys to become readers for life. I appreciated the candor and creative thinking of the group and can’t wait to see what kinds of programs and ideas they come up with to help the boys and men in their communities become readers for life! (The workshop slides are posted in the Links 2 My Stuff Tab)

Please share your ideas here when you implement them! Thanks to SWFLN for sponsoring the event.
